Creative Reuse in the Classroom
Teaching Art on the Cheap
We offer a repository of art lesson plans for the K-5 classroom—the projects have a traditional appearance but almost 100% of the ideas use reused or recycled materials, which were all sourced from SCRAP’s crafty inventory. These lessons and projects were tried and tested by the wonderful students at Whitman Elementary during the 2009-2010 school year and focus on exploring the seven elements of art. Visit the blog.

The Ivy School
The Ivy School is SCRAP’s school partner for the 2011-12 school year Keep up with their creative reuse adventures on our blog.
Escuela Viva Art
SCRAP’s 2010-11 school partner was The Living School, a small school based on the Reggio Emilia philosophy. Review the adventures of their art teacher, Kjirsten Winters, and her 15 students working on process-oriented creative reuse projects.
