Things We Accept

How, when and where to donate

Please note: We are now accepting donations outside! To make more space for shopping in the store, we have moved the donation receiving area into our garage. Just ring the doorbell next to the garage door and we will come to collect your donation.

SCRAP collects clean and reusable art, craft and office supplies that meet the following requirements:

• Materials must be clean (no stains, odors, mildew, animal hair) and in usable condition.
• We can only accept donations from in and around the Portland area.
• Donations are approved onsite only. All donations are subject to approval at staff discretion.
• Please have your donations organized. This will ensure your donation is processed in a timely manner.
• Donations accepted during open hours (10 am to 6 pm daily).
• For donations of more than 3-4 boxes, please make an appointment at least 24 hours in advance by calling 503-294-0769 x1.

Materials we generally accept

Paper

Copy paper, cardstock, letterhead, art paper and pads, construction paper, rolls of paper, poster board, paper sample books, select art books, blueprints, sturdy cardboard tubes.

Fabric and Notions

Fabric (yardage only – 1/4 yard minimum), zippers, buttons, beads, jewelry pieces, thread, sewing supplies, sewing tools, ribbon, Velcro, leather, yarn, knitting needles, crochet hooks, patterns, wool scraps, felt.

Artist Supplies

Most types of paint, brushes, pastels, glue, chalk, ink, carving tools, stencils, transfer letters, crayons, markers, rulers, clay, glue guns, silk screens, canvas (blank and used), easels.

Craft Supplies

Pipe cleaners, craft foam, glitter, doll supplies, marbles, game and puzzle pieces, silk flowers, wine corks, pinback buttons, candle wax, straws, plastic bottle caps, trophies.

Collage & Scrapbooking

Stickers, scrapbook paper, embellishments, punches, rubber stamps, stamp pads, playing cards, maps, calendars, select magazines (see list below), postage stamps, photographs.

Gift Wrap & Party Supplies

Wrapping paper, gift bags, tissue, greeting cards, party decorations, ribbon and bows, Mylar balloons.

Mat Board, Framing, Sign Making

Mat board, foam core, frames, acrylic, Plexiglas, corrugated plastic, sign board, adhesive vinyl, photo albumz.

Architecture/Design

Carpet samples (12″x12″ or larger), Formica samples, wallpaper, tile (colorful – 4″x4″ max), paint chip samples, fabric books, upholstery swatches (6″x6″ or larger), contact paper.

Office Supplies

Pens, pencils, erasers, scissors, hole punches, staplers, staples, staple removers, tape dispensers, tape, file folders (manila, pocket and hanging), transparencies, rubber bands, paperclips, envelopes, labels, binders (no logos), organizers, note pads, clipboards.

Containers

Small jars, tins, jewelry boxes, small cardboard boxes, shopping bags, prescription bottles (no labels), plastic crates, cigar boxes, Rubbermaid type bins, buckets, small plastic containers, bubble wrap.

Media/Tech
