Liz Lancashire, Executive Director: Liz and her family relocated from Portland, Oregon to Traverse City almost five years ago. The natural beauty and close community appealed to her and she and her husband have found the perfect place to raise their three sons. Within the desire to move was to start anew and “do something that matters.” After seeing the success and growth of the original SCRAP in Portland, bringing SCRAP to Traverse City seemed like a natural fit. From extensive retail, early education and advertising job experience, Liz brings all of this know how to getting SCRAP TC up and running. The environmental focus and endless creative opportunities at SCRAP inspire and motivate her. The focus on sustainability and creative repurposing is such a timely issue and Traverse City is a great place to begin this adventure.

Meagan Thomas Wells, Advisory Board and Volunteer: Meagan is a Traverse City native. Upon graduation from TC West High School, she finished an Associates of Arts at NMC and continued on to Savannah College of Art and Design but ultimately completed her education at Davenport University with a focus on Marketing and Advertising. Meagan resides in Traverse City, Michigan with her husband, Ryan Wells. At the moment, they work side-by-side running Hybra Advance Technology, Hybra Energy Corp., and Hybra Recycling, in addition to operating several commercial properties. To counter-act the jam-packed business day, Meagan and Ryan are also abstract emotion-based painters. Meagan plans to open a gallery one day that will feature up and coming talent from the region. She is excited to put her creativity, networking, and business skills towards seeing SCRAP succeed in our community.
Kristin A. Anton, Advisory Board and Volunteer: Kristin grew up in Traverse City, Michigan and moved to Portland, Oregon in 1999 to attend Portland State University where she attained a Bachelors in Science in Biology, Masters in Science in Biology, Masters in Science Teaching with a certification in Secondary Education. She has worked in many educational capacities including adjunct faculty at Northwestern Michigan College, substitute teaching, NMC’s College for Kids Program, and teaching online for Colorado Technical University. She currently works at Traverse City West Senior High as a library assistant. In Kristin’s many craft adventures, SCRAP Portland was a tremendous resource so when she returned to Northern Michigan she immediately wondered, “Where’s the SCRAP?” Reuse art allows Kristin to combine three things she is very passionate about: art, environmentalism, and education. Reuse art exercises creative and critical thinking, in addition to problem solving that will be necessary for confronting the environmental issues of the future.
