SCRAP Denton
ABOUT
We officially opened our doors for business at SCRAP Denton on January 5, 2012. What a great way to start a new year! After many months of planning, negotiating, working, fundraising, meeting, cleaning, sorting, and moving, we opened with some wonderful materials on our shelves donated by our awesome Denton community.
Come by and shop, donate, or sign up to volunteer with us. We are located just one block west of the historic Denton Courthouse Square at 215 Oak Street. Our operating hours are Wednesday - Friday, 12 - 6 pm and Saturday, 10 am - 4 pm. We look forward to seeing YOU there soon!

Donna Gregory, Director: While on a trip to visit my daughter Heather in Portland, I had my first SCRAP experience where Heather was a volunteer. Being a certified crafter, quilter, and lover of all things artsy and environmental, I was immediately SOLD on the mission and philosophy of SCRAP. Through a series of very fortunate events and the help of generous friends and community members, SCRAP Denton was born. When I retired from teaching 2.5 years ago, I never dreamed I would take on the responsibility for opening a nonprofit creative reuse center, but when all the stars seemed to align themselves I felt compelled to do my part to bring this fantastic opportunity for creative reuse to my hometown community. Our local artists, teachers, students in our school district as well as both the University of North Texas and Texas Women’s University will benefit greatly from this project. I look forward to all the wonderful experiences to come through this joyous work!
Martha Coburn, Volunteer Coordinator: Knowing that her best friend, Donna Gregory, was wanting to start SCRAP Denton, she quickly accepted a chance to be involved with the project. She has worked with many volunteer groups through her church and through the Denton school district; so she felt that recruiting & training volunteers for SCRAP Denton was an opportunity she couldn’t pass up. She loves the idea of donating items for others to purchase and creatively reuse them. She also enjoys the opportunity to meet other creative members in the community.
